2026 Chisago County Fair
Amateur Talent Show

Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 1:00pm at the Beer Garden Stage. Mandatory Practice will be held at 10:00am.
Cash Prizes for the winner in every division! Winner = $50

Preteen Division = 12 and under 
Teen Division = Ages 13-18 
Open Division = Any Contestant (regardless of age)
If you are in a duet or group, choose the division that is appropriate for the majority of the members.
Contestants age at audition date determines which division an act competes in. When not part of the act, accompanists may be any age.
ELIGIBILILTY
The contest is open to all amateur entertainers. Professionals are NOT permitted to compete. This includes union musicians and anyone whose principal source on income is from their talent. Compensation for performing at weddings, etc. does not constitute principal source of income.

With the exception of first-place division winners, acts that have participated in the past are welcome to compete again. 2025 Preteen and Teen first-place division winners are ineligible to compete in 2026. After a one-year hiatus, former Teen Division first-place winners are required to compete in the Open Division. Former Preteen first-place winners must also compete in the Open Division if they are not of age to compete in the Teen Division.

RULES
  • 4 minute time limit for all acts (Points will be deducted for acts going over.)
  • No background vocals allowed on pre-recorded music for vocal acts 
  • Your act must be the same at all levels 
  • You are required to use a USB drive.
  • No ipods, ipads or cellphones are allowed for accompaniment

Acts will be judged on:
  • quality performance (including selection)
  • stage presence
  • entertainment value


Anyone from anywhere with an entertainment act or demonstration can sign up! 

YOU could qualify for the County Fair Talent Contest at the 2026 Minnesota State Fair!  All of our FIRST PLACE winners will be eligible for the MSF County Fair Talent Contest. The MSF County Fair Talent Contest is the culmination of talent contests held at county fairs throughout the summer in Minnesota. Each winner in each competition age division at a county fair is invited to participate at the Minnesota State Fair for nightly and overall prizes! Nightly semifinal winners in each division go on to compete against other nightly winners at the MSF County Fair Finals for the overall title. The top 2 winners in each division of the MSF County Fair Finals go on to compete in the finals competition in the Minnesota State Fair Amateur Talent Contest!
