The Open Class Department is excited to unveil a new premium book with several new entries. Buttons at the bottom of the page will bring you to each division. Some changes to note:
Entries for all divisions will be accepted on Tuesday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You must be IN LINE by 6:00PM.
All livestock entries must be in place by 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 22, 2021. NO exceptions.
All open class exhibits and premiums will be released on Sunday, July 25 at 5 p.m.
Pre-registration of exhibits is available and very appreciated. We strongly encourage advance registration! This can be done with the entry form mailed or emailed. Also, new this year, the online form located on this webpage can be used as well to submit entries immediately. Advance registration is especially important to allow time to create your exhibit cards. Please consider bringing labels along for each exhibit tag that states your name and hometown. Pre-registration will end on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 10:00PM.
Mailing Address: Chisago County Fair - Open Class, C/O Abby Penzenstadler, 10629 258th St, Chisago City, MN 55013
If you do not pre-enter, bring your item(s) to the fair on entry day, Tuesday, July 20. Here are a few tips to speed up the entry process:
All divisions, classes and lots have been renumbered. To enter into a specific age group, you will need to include a number at the end of the division number: (1) Under 18, (2) 18-65 years, (3) 65+.
Provide an address label to attach to the entry form. This will ensure correct spelling on your premium check and an address if we need to mail the check to you.
Provide labels with just your name and hometown for the exhibit tag that will be placed with your entry. Each exhibit will need its own label, so plan accordingly. Otherwise, the tag will need to be handwritten.
Be prepared with the Division, Class and Lot Numbers for each item that you are entering. If not, we will ask you to step out of line with a premium book and entry form to a side table to complete your entries, allowing us time to assist other exhibitors.
NEW THIS YEAR: You may now enter TWO entries per lot.
Open class competitive exhibits at the Chisago County Fair are judged according to the American awards system. Items in a lot are judged against each other and every lot may receive only one blue (1st), one red (2nd) and one white (3rd).
Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded in each division.
Judges have the final say for all awards presented.
NEW THIS YEAR: Ribbons are returning for premium winners.
Sheep entries are due by July 12 online or to Amanda Cook at firstname.lastname@example.org. Late entries may be accepted depending on space. Beef, dairy and poultry do not need to pre-register. We are not able to offer goats, rabbits, or swine in open class for this year due to space limitations.
Great food and plenty of a variety of events for everyone to watch.

And a great way for the community to get together,.. and of course the foods all the foods!!!"
